I'm Alex, a seasoned Unity developer with 11 years of experience under my belt. Today, I'm thrilled to share the inception of my latest project — GROZA. It's not just another game; it's a passion project, a homage to the games that captivated me and my friends a decade ago.
The Vision:
Imagine a game where every moment is filled with excitement, where exploring unknown territories and battling fierce monsters is the norm. That's the essence of GROZA. I want to recreate the thrill of those gaming sessions that kept us glued to the screen, and I believe GROZA is the perfect vessel for that.
The Journey Begins:
Armed with my trusty Unity engine, I've laid the groundwork for GROZA. A few months back, I pieced together a simple prototype that sparked my imagination. Since then, I've been on a relentless quest to turn this vision into reality. And thus, the idea of starting this devlog was born.
Progress Update:
In the realm of development, progress is our currency. Here's a glimpse into what I've been up to:
- Character Controller Overhaul: I've revamped the character controller to ensure smooth and responsive gameplay.
- Network Protocol for Co-op Play: Cooperative gameplay is at the heart of GROZA. I've devised a robust network protocol to facilitate seamless multiplayer experiences.
- Procedural World Generator: To enhance replayability, I'm developing a procedural world generator capable of creating countless unique maps. It's a daunting task, but the potential payoff is immense.
What Lies Ahead:
My goal is clear: to captivate the audience and build anticipation for GROZA. Over the next month and a half — leading up to my birthday on May 21st — I'll be hard at work crafting a playable demo. It's an ambitious deadline, but I'm up for the challenge.
